Tantangan dan Keterpaksaan Pengungsi Afghanistan Dalam Beradaptasi di Pekanbaru

Abstrak

This study discusses the forms of challenges faced by Afghanistan refugees in Pekanbaru. When viewed from social and economic aspects, there are still many obstacles that they get, especially bad stigma in society, therefore there needs to be the right solution to overcome the problems they face. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method that uses two types of data, namely primary data as supporting data from the results of interviews with refugees and secondary data as the main data using the library research data collection method from articles, journals and related literature. Based on the findings, refugees have an active spirit, stand up, have skills that have potential such as painting and have the right as human beings to be protected and respected as long as they do not disturb the security of the country. However, there are still many challenges faced by refugees, both socially and economically, which are obstacles to their integration process, such as difficulty finding jobs, access to physical health, mental health problems, there is still bad stigma and rejection in the community, and high anxiety about safety and security. This study encourages the active role of the community, government agencies, NGOs, and related parties to collaborate to protect and provide opportunities for refugees to live a safer life as human beings, and is expected to be a consideration for the government in making policies related to refugees in Indonesia
